Today I was reading Exodus about the stones of the breast plate of Aaron. It mentioned Chrysolite that I was not familiar with and a few hours later when I was at the gem lab- I noticed a picture of the 12 stones that represent the 12 tribes of Israel. Here is how the scriptures read- Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. The first row shall be Carnelian, Chrysolite and Beyrl; the second row shall be Turquoise, Lapis lazuli and Emerald; the third row shall be Jacinth, Agate and Amethyst. Exodus 28:17-19Niv. Now Beryl could be Aqua, Morganite- Emerald is also Beryl but already mentioned in the second row. I asked the lab director what Chrysolite was- and he told me he gave a speech on this before- it is a yellowish green most probably Zircon- perhaps that looks like a peridot?- Chrysolite translates to gold stone. The Jacinth is a reddish orange Zircon. If anyone would like me to make this breast plate in gold with stones as it is written let me know. Engrave the names of the sons of Israel on the two stones the way a gem cutter engraves a seal. Then mount the stones in gold filigree settings. Exodus 28:11Niv. 1. Reuben 2. Simeon 3. Levi 4.
